Glazes are substances applied manually, through wiping or brushing, in between layers of the finish to provide darkening effect on the wood details and grain making it antique-like in appearance. Stains provide penetrative transparent color tone on the wood substrate improving its grain details and serves as a base shade for the succeeding coatings in order to achieve a certain finish.
